Garage Sale Blues

without comments

My emotions are hanging off the far end of the spectrum right now. I feel like I just witnessed a puppy die and it’s been a constant feeling since this afternoon when I was moving my things out for my garage sale tomorrow. I was horrified when I saw my old Guess wedges amiss a pile of clothes strewn across the table like garage sale junk. It was painful to see them end up with such a terrible fate; they used to be my favorite pair of shoes! Jesus, I realy did not think I was this kind of girl- I am actually mourning over a pair of shoes. I guess people really do get attached to their things and thats why they “save” their beloved items in storage units, where their treasures get neglected for the next 25 years- I am determined not to yield to such ridiculousness… no matter how much it hurts.

They’re pictured below fresh out of the box… then, lost in a sea.

Good Over Evil

without comments

I took this picture two years and eleven months ago on a road trip to LA. I was nineteen, had just moved to Las Vegas and was readjusting to life on my own. Each day was overwhelmingly lonely. I kept this picture to remind me that this time will pass, that this new city would become familiar and no friends would become great friends. It has and in less than one month, on May 1, I’ll be celebrating my third year in Las Vegas- I can’t believe it’s been so long! I still wake up some mornings amazed that I live so far from home, in such a big city. I just wanted to share this picture with everyone; when you are having a bad day, week , or even year, I hope it will help you remember that Good will triumph over Evil.

Train Of Thought: I Will Not Fear

without comments

(I am in love with the faded blue on this oversized shirt, tre vintage- just the way I like it.)

Currently lounging in bed and jammin’ to some soul music. My mind has been hit with an overwhelming train of thought (one train carrying a very B I G thought) and it is:

I will not fear.

I will embody someone who is true to herself. Fear will not be a road block to the things I love. I will do what I want when I want because I am not afraid.

Passion

without comments

Passion is remarkable. It is unfathomable, yet somehow it exists-this powerful state of exiliration that stems from within your soul and channels through your heart to be felt, beat by beat, moment by moment, throughout your entire body. It’s electrifying; it moves you to live. Be Bold, Be Daring, Be the Only. That is the essence of FDL Vintage.

Today I’d like to formally welcome you to the creation of FDL Vintage- an online shop for all things one of a kind and a place to share our most current fashion obsessions, life ponderings, and ever-changing styles; a place where vintage is a medium of art and self expression. At FDL, we thrive on creativity and live off individuality.  We are whoever we want to be.

FDL’s blogs are thoughtfully written, and we love hearing from fellow vintage lovers. Please explore our site and, if and when your heart desires, leave comments within posts (just click on the title; comments box will be located at the bottom of the page) and we will comment back! Also FDL’s shop will be frequently updated, so check back often. Can’t wait to hear from you!

With love,

Lily
